Games aren’t ‘copyrighted’, but the dialogue between players ‘can’ be, in some cases. Therefore you can distribute any SGF files, or SGFs you made yourself of professional matches, or any other matches you’ve seen, and you’ll be 100% fine so long as the dialogue between players isn’t included. In most cases, like games over KGS, even the dialogue is fine- just be sure that if you include something a professional player said / did during the game as a comment, you have their permission. “Defamation of character” and all that can be pretty harsh if a comment is taken the wrong way later, even if its exactly what he/she said during the match, there’s no way to prove it really.

I’ve made my own SGFs of a few pro matches, because static image / JPEG kifu is hard as hell to read without the ability to push ‘back’ or ‘forward’ and play out the moves in order. Most Kifu doesn’t even properly list all of the ‘ko’s, so you can be looking around for 15 minutes for ‘move 75’ when it doesn’t exist on the board. *sighs*
