Comedy Galore!

Okay, so here’s my list of recommended comedy titles for Enza-chan, just in case ^_^ Going in order, my comedy top 10! (that I’m making up right now of course, these top 10 lists change almost daily after all).

1. Azumanga Daioh. Yeah, you’ve probably already seen it twenty times, but I’d be remiss if I go about making assumptions and leave it off the list. Actually leaving it out of a ‘comedy top 10’ is close to anime heresy in itself. It’s the King after-all, you understand right? I mean it’s in the title!

2. Lucky Star. Needless to say, the only reason it ranks below Azu is because Tomo is too frickin amazing.

3. Minami-ke (Minami Family, x3 series). Ahhh, Kana, easily one of the funniest characters ever made.

4. K-On!. Of course.

5. Great Teacher Onizuka (GTO). I’m not usually one for ecchi comedy of this kind, especially given the intentionally rough art style, but this was freakin hilarious.

6. Ichigo Mashimaro (Strawberry Marshmallow). Very lighthearted, following around four elementary school kids. The comedic antics of Miu-chan had me laughing in pretty much every ep.

7. Bokusatsu Tenshi Dokuro-chan. To each their own maybe >_>;; I thought it was hilarious, but it’s incredibly vulgar, with Tarentino-style blood fountains…

8. Hyakko.

9. Kyou no Go no Ni (Today in Class 5-2). Ecchi comedy that borderlines on illegal, but way too entertaining to put down. They released two separate series for it.

10. Love Hina / Excel Saga. Parody gets shoved into the same slot, not really my ‘cup of tea’ so to speak.

That’s just sticking to things that are pretty far into the ‘comedy’ category, there’s of course stuff like Manabi Straight, Mahoraba, Genshiken, Chobits, etc… that are funny through some or even most of the episodes, but incredibly serious at times as well. Then again, I guess K-On! and Hyakko were like that too ^_^; There’s of course dozens more, but those are the big ones.
